Fourth ranked Santiago Max (6-4) upset the 1st placed ranked Fenix (8-2) 116-101 in the playoff semifinals. Forward Franklyn Jaquez (197-1997) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and Carlos Martinez (186-1998) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds. The best for the losing side was Juan Valenzuela with 32 points and 10 rebounds and Sammy Rodriguez scored 20 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Santiago Max will face the top ranked GIE Cibao Immortals Friday night at Club GUG.

Immortals – Los Capitanes 112-84
Immortals (9-1) roll pass Los Capitanes in Santiago on Saturday. GIE dominated start to finish 121-89. Immortals outrebounded Los Capitanes 54-32 including 22 on the offensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Immortals made 7 blocks. It was a good game for forward Angel Rivas (198-1993) who saved his team from a defeat with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds. American forward James Milton (203-1992, college: Stevenson) contributed with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Iriel Lopez answered with 28 points and 6 rebounds and Jaison Valdez added 20 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Los Capitanes. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Immortals have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 9-1 record. GIE advance to the LDC finals for the second season. They will face Team Max Friday night.
